From Lute Society of America Quarterly
By far the largest corpus of sixteenth-century lute music is comprised of intabulations after vocal models yet these pieces remain the least performed and recorded. Usually relegated as the rare inclusion on a program, Heringman has taken up the daunting task of preparing and recording an entire CD based on the intabulations of the music of Josquin des Prez—with much success. . . . This disc is an extremely welcome addition to the lute world and deserves a closer listen. Heringman has a round, warm sound that compliments the linear quality of this music. . . .
