I'd say first: great sensibility (feeling, the abstract delicacy or energy that defines how what anything one does sound/feels).
Next, great taste: for your choice of repertoire--the types of melodies. And then also: great fluidity (way of playing).

Hello, Jacob! I listened to Jake's Dump the other day whilst zooming down Blackpool Promenade in the car. This multi-tracked lute gem, which includes a third fuzz lute overlay at the point of Golden Section, nearly made me crash into the roundabout at Gynn Square, straight up into the roundabout which have a lot of masks on. It's just that I was so into it and didn't notice the roundabout approaching. I hope that one day you will release this on a CD as I think the world is ready for it. This is what Amazing Blondel could have sounded like. I wish you'd have been in Amazing Blondel. VB, Andrew. (PS. Now you know why I haven't got a Guestbook.)

An excellent website, and makes me more than ever self-conscious about never having mastered thumb-in RH technique! I lent 'Jane Pickeringe' to John Jefferies, who wrote that little book about Rosseter (a much-enlarged new edition is imminent) and he was overwhelmed with the artistry of your playing, especially of the chromatic fantasy. (He has been distinctly UNDERwhelmed with some other lute CDs I've lent him, that shall remain nameless.) Obviously a pretty discerning sort of chap!
